It’s apolitical and immoral to create rumour that Prachanda is in minority: Lokendra Bista
It is apolitical and immoral to say that Prachanda is in Minority : Lokendra Bista.
Q: What conclusion will the upcoming central committee will take?
A: The central committee meeting can discuss on two issues. Firstly the immediate action plan and secondly the tactical line of the party. On immediate action plan party would discuss on government, peace process and constitution while long-term issues may include national convention, issues of leadership and next Prime Minister. There is no alternative for the party to resolve the impending problems of the party through the central committee meeting but the leaders must leave the mentality of factionalism and should take up the issues of revolution and unity in the party, instead.
Q: Different media have been claiming chairman Prachanda is in minority in the party. Is it true?
A: As an establishment side of the party chairman has been presenting his say through the media. The rumour spread in the market claiming that chairman was in minority in the party was nothing but apolitical and immoral rumour and that was baseless. I suppose this rumour is just a ploy to weaken chairman Dahal. The so-called alliance is also incorrect. It’s not necessary for the leaders to present themselves against the leadership in haste. I would like to request all the leaders that there is no alternative for the party leaders to implement the party’s action plan strengthening the leadership.
Q: The unity among the opposite lines in the party has indicated that anyone can forge alliance with anybody and break ties anytime in Marxism. Is this what Marxism say?
A: Marxism in not like a leaf of a tree. It’s also not like the sun and its shadow. It’s the science to analyse a concrete situation in a concrete way. Failure to distinguish truth from false is not Marxism. That is opportunism instead. Marxism says that the correct thing in a phase of time can also be incorrect in another phase. Anything can have alternative in a particular time frame. There is nothing without alternative in this world. We cannot accept the attempt to prove Marxism false. Marxism is based on reality-based incidents and this resolved all such incidents in dialectic materialist way.
Q: Those supporting Peace and Constitution have forged alliance with the leaders lobbying for people’s revolt as the party’s tactical line lately. Is this what Marxism say?
A: That’s not true. We are discussing on what model of revolution to apply in the Nepal’s context– whether to go for Russian model or the Chinese one. However, chairman Prachanda was for unique model having speciality of our country which is not available in the books, creations and publications. The model of revolution and the issue of tactical line is not the matter of rot-learning. It is the matter of continuous practice. Things will be on the right track if we could interpret and implement Marxism in an appropriate manner.
Q: Why did your chairman failed to make people understand about this fact?
A: All the comrades agree on this. I would like to oppose the leaders who have been claiming that chairman was in minority. Leaders should not practice politics of lies. This will only keep the people in confusion. I would like to stress on the fact that the issues raised by chairman was correct yesterday, that is correct today and will also remain correct tomorrow as well.
We can move ahead with our tactical line at par with our unique model of revolution for Nepal. At present Kiran was for Chinese model of revolution while Baburam was for Russian model. But we are convinced that Nepal should have our own Nepali model that could be partially similar with both the foreign models.
Q: What decision will this central committee take — on tactical line or the work division?
A: During the upcoming meeting, we will basically do three things. Firstly, peace and constitution, secondly the five-point agreement and thirdly the problems surfaced in the party. We will discuss on freedom of expression in the party, uniformity in the works of the party and also finalise the date for the national convention. We will finalise the long-term theoretically and ideologically significant issues during the convention.
Q: It seems that the contradictions surfaced in your party have been leading the party towards disintegration. Is this true?
A: We must resolve the problems surfaced in the party. The unhealthy internal struggle in the party seems to have taken the shape of class struggle and thus the class struggle seems to have diminished. At this time we should express commitment on ending peace process logically, hand over new constitution to Nepali people and resolve the issues of national independence.
